Creating room to bloom on bookshelves

This client hadn’t met a book they didn’t purchase, read and hang onto. Extensive culling across two rooms cleared 18 boxes of books now ready to be donated. Books were sorted according to genre so that they could be donated to friends and family who love mystery tales as well as public libraries and prison reading programs that receive only certain types of material (ie. paperbacks). Children’s books were tagged for a special donation project at the client’s upcoming college reunion and for young nieces who live further away.

“My husband would have never done this without help from someone that wasn’t me! We are both so grateful for the help and just in time for the holidays. Now all of John’s ties are on a specially designed hanger, shoes that don’t fit are gone and his sweaters, shirts and sweatshirts are properly organized. I can’t even tell you about the space we gained in our bedroom by getting rid of an entire dresser that had been full (inside and out) with clothing that was ready for donation! I feel like we can now actually rest in our bedroom again.”

Creating room to bloom in two “attic” spare rooms

“Room 2 Bloom DC is one of the best investments I have ever made in myself and in our home. These incredible women helped me address years of clutter that I had accumulated while working full time and raising a kid. They are so professional, smart, and hard-working.
They don't judge but help you make decisions that literally will free up time and space in your life, in your home and in your head.  They also possess organizational superpowers and a very discerning and tasteful design eye as well.

They unearthed some beautiful art that we had stored in the attic 15 years ago. They redid our junk room into a gift storage and wrapping station and they created a guest room where there was only a sea of boxes before.  Run don't walk to sign them up.”

Cluttered room filled with suitcases, cardboard boxes, books, and various household items, with a small window at the far end.

Creating room to bloom in a collage-aged child’s bedroom

“Our son has left for college so this was the right time to move our laundry upstairs, reconfigure the space, but still leave the room recognizable for our son when he is home for holidays and summer vacations. Room 2 Bloom pulled this off and exceeded our expectations. We can’t wait to surprise him when he’s home for Thanksgiving.”

Creating room to bloom in a primary bedroom with spillover effects in the den

Our goal in this lovely one bedroom apartment started with making room for recently inherited treasures. To accomplish this end, multiple spaces had to be addressed. This connectivity is often the case as rooms are multifunctional, especially when space is limited. We started with the clear goal of returning a clothing dresser to the bedroom where it belonged and decluttering shelves of books that rimmed the entire room. With this done, the client regained dedicated office storage space, room on the wall to mount a television and a place for mom’s cherished silver. The primary bedroom was cleared of clutter which made room for the dresser so now all the clothes are back where they belong.

Interior of a cluttered room featuring a wooden dresser with various items on top, surrounded by shelves with books, a television on a small table, and boxes on the floor. Yoga mats are stored near a white cabinet, and framed artwork hangs on the walls.
